The Wetland House makes a virtue of a challenging site. Beside a pond in Kelaniya, on soft wetland soil, this two-storey home rests on a micro-pile foundation and reaches out over a timber deck to meet the water.

Engineered for Wetland Ground

The weak peat soil of this wetland site called for a micro-pile foundation, an advanced engineering solution that gives the home a rock-solid base where a standard footing could not.

A Timber Deck Over the Water

Our architects designed a beautiful timber deck over the existing pond, letting the family step out over the water, a rare, tranquil connection to nature at the heart of the home.
